Tencent have released a new version of their online storage software Weiyun 微云. The new version fixes bugs and certain strings seem to hint at the coming of notes to the software in a future version. I have translated the software strings from Chinese to English so those who do not read Chinese can now also use the software. Download the files here (mirror) and follow the instructions below.
These files will change the language of Tencent Weiyun 腾讯微云 version 2.1 (build 943) from Chinese into English. All you need to do is extract these files (with WinRAR or 7-zip) into C:\Program Files (x86)\Tencent\weiyundisk\I18N\2052\ (The location may vary depending on your Weiyun installation). When prompted, overwrite the original files. It is highly recommended to keep a backup of the original files in case something goes wrong.
I have only tested this with the Windows version of Weiyun. Mac users, kindly let me know if they find a way to use the same files on their version.
Note: I have not bothered to translate the User Agreement (although it may be worth reading). Also, some translations do not fit the UI elements and may look chopped off. There is nothing I can do about this. If you do find actual translation errors, please contact me.

I followed all of the instructions. However, I was still not able to translate the Weiyun v2.1 to English on my windows 8.1 computer.

Supposing you’re trying to copy the files into the right folder (the actual location of Weiyun), you also will need administrator rights in order to overwrite any files in the Program Files folder.
Are you sure the copy operation completed successfully? In that case, perhaps you have a second installation of Weiyun in a different location.

That means the system is being upgraded so the share page is currently not available and that they’re sorry for the inconvenience. I’ve seen this before. Hopefully it gets resolved.

This happened to me as well. Due to a file lock I renamed the folder and made a new one with all the new English files. Then this exact error message happened.
Fix: there is an enc file that was n the original folder that is required so copied it over, restarted the client and no problems. itis called urlbundle.enc or similar.
Neil, I’m sorry but I cannot help you with that. If you did it right, this has nothing to do with my translation but rather with connectivity to WeiYun’s server or China’s Great Firewall. That it happened right after replacing the language files is mere coincidence.
Any translation tool for iPhone? I have the translated set up for desktop but the app on my iPhone is all in Chinese.

However, I would strongly advise not to use this service, unless your Chinese is very fluent.
After a week of uploading (around 100 Gb), I suddenly received the message that my account is at risk and could not longer log in.
Then I was redirected to a web page to recover my details. With the help of google translate I learned that recovery was not possible as I did not provide a telephone number or so. But they offered the possibility to appeal (in English !), so I did. A couple of basic questions were asked (date sign up, normal location etc), so I was confident about the result.
One hour later an email from them : appeal not approved, bye bye files…
So for me, never again. I think I will buy a 1 TB account at Mediafire at usd 25
And I still have no idea why they blocked my account, there was only music in it. My best guess is that it has something to do with my IP adress which changes frequently (VPN)

I want to upload videos up to 6GB. but it tells me that my browser does not support upload, is there any application for mac? and so that it can ascend, or recommend?
I have Weiyun downloaded and now have uploaded a couple of gigs of photos and a few documents. However the photos are in the file location and not the photo one. I tried to move a folder of photos over to the photo area but a window just comes up with all the folders uploaded. Are there instructions available to help us figure out things? Things like uploading to the correct location and how it all works? For instance do the items loaded change when you make changes to the original files?
