I have translated the strings in Tencent Weiyun 腾讯微云 from Chinese to English so those who do not read Chinese can now also use the software. Download the files here (mirror) and follow the instructions below.

These files will change the language of Tencent Weiyun 腾讯微云 version 2.0 (build 852) from Chinese into English. All you need to do is extract these files (with WinRAR or 7-zip) into C:\Program Files (x86)\Tencent\weiyundisk\I18N\2052\ (The location may vary depending on your Weiyun installation). When prompted, overwrite the original files. It is highly recommended to keep a backup of the original files in case something goes wrong.

I have only tested this with the Windows version of Weiyun. Mac users, kindly let me know if they find a way to use the same files on their version.

Note: I have not bothered to translate the User Agreement (although it may be worth reading). Also, some translations do not fit the UI elements and may look chopped off. There is nothing I can do about this. If you do find actual translation errors, please contact me.

Enjoy Weiyun.

  1. Will you translate 2.1 version into English? Got an update, previous version seems to fail working. Thank you.

  2. Thank you very much. It is much easier for me to use with English than using my little bit of Japanese to figure out what the Chinese characters may mean. You have provided a great service.

  3. Hi Dave

I’m happy it’s working for you. And thanks for leaving a comment, too. It’s good to know I’m helping others.

Be sure to grab the 2.1 translation (elsewhere on my blog) if you run this more recent version.

    1. I think that if the boy is allowed to wear the shirt to school he should be allowed to wear it in the yearbook. Students don’t have to buy a yearbook, so if they don’t agree with what’s in it then they sh&18dno#l2u7;t buy one. Or, if students don’t want to see it they can tear that page out or cover it up with something. We have a yearbook page on religion, where students say their different beliefs. What’s the difference?
